Photograph by George Steinmetz @geosteinmetz No, the picture is not upside down. It’s opening day at Yankee Stadium, with West Point cadets holding an enormous flag in the outfield for the singing of the National Anthem. This picture was taken while leaning out of a small helicopter hovering deep over centerfield. There are some things that you just don’t do as a photographer: you don’t step on Superman’s cape, Obama is always “Mr. President,” and you never put a helicopter between the flag and 50,000 yankee fans during the singing of the National Anthem on opening day!
